"This 2-piece buckle is by Wood & Hughes, a New York City silver manufacturer active from 1845-1899 and principally known for its flatware and hollowware. However, the firm did make a small amount of jewelry. This buckle is of hand-engraved cast silver with a high-relief casting of a woman's head soldered to the center. This buckle is about 2 ½" high."
