"Baltimore is well known for the repousse work of the silver makers located there. This sash pin is by Baltimore Silversmiths Mfg. Co., located in Baltimore and founded in 1903 by Frank Schofield, who is reputed to have cut the dies for the "Baltimore Rose" flatware pattern produced by The Stieff Co. (source: Rainwater & Redfield Encyclopedia of American Silver Manufacturers, 4th Edition.) This sash pin is cast silver in a heavily floral pattern very typical of the workmanship associated with the popular Baltimore silver makers. This piece is about 3" wide."
