"While Gorham & Co. of Providence is well known as a maker of hollowware, flatware and novelty silver items, its jewelry production is less well known. Its pieces are, to my knowledge, all cast work. This one-piece buckle is in a flower shape with a center-mounted red stone. The silver has been cut out behind the stone to allow light to pass through, increasing the stone's reflective qualities and color. This buckle is about 1.5" diameter."
