"While Gorham & Co. of Providence is well known as a maker of hollowware, flatware and novelty silver items, its jewelry production is less well known. Its pieces are, to my knowledge, all cast work. This one-piece buckle is in a flower shape with a center-mounted red stone. The silver has been cut out behind the stone to allow light to pass through, increasing the stone's reflective qualities and color. This buckle is about 1 ½" diameter."
