Slide #63

silde

"Now and then, a maker's mark clearly tells the maker's name. This is true of this buckle, a one-piece, cast and engraved, gilded design of two entwined snakes, with rhinestones mounted on the backs of the snakeheads. The mark is a fish with a letter "L" at its nose, and is the mark of Fischel, Nessler & Co. of New York City, founded in about 1886 according to Rainwater & Redfield. This piece is about 2.25" wide."
