Slide #67

silde

"I find this one-piece snake buckle fascinating. It is made of a single piece of small diameter gilded sterling tubing, looped to form the snake design. A snake head, with colored glass eyes, is on the end, and the fittings necessary to attach a belt are soldered to the reverse. This was made by Wortz & Voorhis of New York City, active from 1896 to about 1915, according to Rainwater & Redfield. This buckle is about 2 ½" wide."
