"This one-piece buckle is by George W. Shiebler and features a cast front with a closed (soldered) back, in a sea life motif with applied, gilded seaweed elements. The octopus is cast into the design. The cutout in the center of the buckle is in the outline of a butterfly. The marks on the back clasp are the typical S with wings, "sterling & 14K". This buckle is about 2 ¾" wide."
