"The back of the Gorham Medusa buckle. The copper head and its placement into the silver casting is visible. Another intriguing feature of this buckle is the sliding fitting on the right strut, which provides a tension grip for the belt. The sliding portion of the fitting is mounted directly onto the strut through which the belt is threaded. I have only seen this type of fitting on buckles made by Gorham."
