As I extend my collection I'll be looking for something with the swoopy curves of Art Nouveau; something scenic, perhaps a souvenir of a particular place; anything with sentimental inscriptions; more engine-turned engraving (can't get enough of that stuff); and earlier and later examples. I might stretch out into other materials, such as mother of pearl, tortoise shell, and papier maché. And who knows? Maybe I'll start collecting antique answering machines.
