Have always been fond of Gorham, and all of these pieces, dating from the mid 19th to mid 20th centuries, have fine qualities. The spoon on the right is an uncommon Gorham cast spoon, designed by Syracuse, NY jeweler E.B. McClelland for the Alpha Phi Women's Fraternity (Sorority), founded at Syracuse University in 1872. The design includes entwined Greek letters "ΑΦ" and vining ivy leaves, with a spray of Lilies of the Valley and Forget-me-nots in the bowl. Photographed for inclusion in a planned book on Gorham souvenir spoons, the authors found only one other example, in a museum.

  1. Lily AKA Lily of the Valley AKA No. 88, first introduced in 1870.
  2. Lily of the Valley, introduced in 1950.
  3. Cast souvenir spoon, Alpha Phi Sorority, introduced in 1892.
