This c. 1980s brooch is made of steel with 14K gold elements. It is European (the gold part is stamped 585) but unsigned by the artist.

Marsh & Co of SF produced really terrific blackened steel jewelry set with pearls and diamonds. Their oxidized steel jewelry came out c. mid-century and I think this use of alternate metals in fine jewelry was way ahead of its time.

Jeweler Peter Skubic produces amazing brooches that utilize steel:

Does anybody have other cool steel jewelry to share?

Hello Paul
I have noticed other manufacturers currently making jewelry with steel, one being Tiffany itself. May be the way of future designers.....?

I agree , some nice looking pieces..
It must be kind of tough to work with.. Cutting, smoothing [sanding],,a mistake , a wrong bend, and try to bend back and probably a break!

You all think that the pieces that look bare must be coated with something? Bare steel on skin isn't always the best thing for some people. but overall some nice and interesting looking pieces...,G.
