The Miami Beach Antique Show 2017 is about to go through big changes. Historically the show has been held at the Miami Beach convention center. For the next few years the Miami Beach convention center is being torn down and rebuilt. So the 2017 show is having to move to the Miami-Dade County Fair and Exposition grounds. Apparently there is less space for dealers and it is very west of the airport (not near anything of interest). The Miami Beach convention center location was near to lots of hotels and restaurants so you did NOT need a car. At the fairgrounds will require a car. The show has always been a good mix of all types of antique dealers from all over the world. There has been a steady growth of "bling" (jewellery/diamond/watch) dealers....My guess is this year there were nearly 50% "Bling" dealers. The show usually runs from Thursday through Monday. I've heard it will now be a day shorter (only 3 days - Friday to Monday). The show is usually scheduled for the end of January. Its now in February. I've heard that lots of dealers won't be setting up. As time marches on, the promoter my change terms and lower prices so the dealers may change their minds. IP: Logged |
