We had some friends over for a Fourth of July party and I think all had a great time celebrating the occasion. We have had an extended run of hot and dry days and everyone was ready to have a good time.

My wife gave a token nod to the British with English tea pots on either side of the epergne, but with eagles at the opposite ends. Of course the eagles were also made in England.

One of our guests made the hat for the watermelon and another for a little bear that sits in our front hall.

Hope everyone in the U.S. had a great day celebrating.
