Hello, I have a set of four silver miniature goblets., At least this is how I can best describe them. The bottom of each is stamped J. PEREZ RUIZ, SPAIN. And also the initials E.P.B. are in the center of the stamp. Can you tell me anything more about this maker, history, etc. )? I really appreciate it thank you., Nicole IP: Logged |

I'm afraid there isn't much to tell. They goblets are Spanish silverplate, as you can tell. E.P.B. usually stands for Electro-Plate on Britannia, which is a hard pewter alloy. I wish I could tell you more aobut the maker, but there is very little written in English about European silverplate manufacturers, save for a few famous ones. Sorry! Brent IP: Logged |

Hmmmmm.... There must be a "resergence" in Ruiz silver. This past weekend I purchased from my local Salvation Army for the sum of seven dollars ($7.00), a set of six (6) champaign classes (sherbert dishes?), six (6) inches high by four and a quarter (4 1/4) inches across, marked J. PEREZ RUIZ SPAIN in the center of the base. In the same cardboard box (they were an "all or nothing" lot) were three (3) unmarked mint julip cups, also in silverplate. All of the items seem to be in rather good shape, needing little more than a good polishing. I would love to know more about them [snip.....SM] Dena
