I have just acquired this baby set from a dealer who was selling a collection of silver from Cleveland, Ohio. I mention this because I believe it has bearing on the possible identity of the maker.

I believe this might be another mark used by Cleveland silversmith Wilhelmina P. Stephan and will need to do further investigation to be able to say with certainty.

Hi Fred. That is a really cool maker's mark and would love to hear what you find out about it. Her other mark documented in thread below is also very cool.

Fred,

I can't provide anything to document that the mark belongs to Wilhelmina (aka "Billy") P. Stephan but my gut says you have made a great discovery.

The initials are surrounded by a line drawing of a vintage ball vise.

Scott,
Thanks for taking the time to point out the initials for Stephan. I believe that the initials are outlined by a line drawing of a vintage ball vise.

That is really an innovative mark. Miss Stephan's billy club mark is also interesting, but I think I like this one best.
