I am seeking information about a pair of sterling candlesticks and a flower basket which carry on their undersides the words "Derby SP Company" along with four digits 2552 on the candlesticks and 1282 on the basket. These items are said to date from the mid to late 1800s and to be embossed in German silver. I have not been able to identify the hallmark.

What kind of information are you seeking?
Here are some of the Derby makers marks (they are not hallmarks).

Thanks for your prompt reply. The makers marks attached are not the same. The items in my reference simply bear the words Derby SP Company and below that line the numbers.

I am interested in determining where Derby SP Company is located; how I can determine year of manufacture; and approximate value (for insurance purposes).

Derby Silver Co. was located in Derby (a.k.a. Birmingham) Connecticut. In 1898, it became a part of International Silver Co. By 1933 the distinct Derby operations were fully consolidated into the International factories in Meriden, Ct.

As it regards a value the best way to determine a value for insurance purposes is to hire a professional appraiser and get a professionally written appraisal report. You could also do some research yourself. Check auction results to see what similar or identical items have recently sold for. Make sure you have several different auctions to compare and then average the results.
