I know I can buy a liquid silver solution that re-plates it... but I don't want it to look too shiny and refinished - just soften the look of the scratches.. if that makes sense. The piece is a large navy serving tray. Is there some miracle paste or cleaner out there? IP: Logged

ahwt Posts: 2334 Registered: Mar 2003	posted 08-16-2018 10:40 AM I did try a product that put a temporary silver coating on but I have forgotten the name. This was probably 20 years ago and it may have been Medallion. As I recall it only worked on copper and it only lasted one or two polishings. I decided to live with a little copper showing. On Old Sheffield Plate I think a little copper showing is attractive. I do not think it worked on white metal. [This message has been edited by ahwt (edited 08-16-2018).] IP: Logged
