The New Members Forum is where new members can begin posting. As a result of past misuse of the Silver Salon Forums by some new members, all new memberships will be restricted to the New Members Forum. All the public Silver Salon Forums will be viewable and searchable by anyone. Posting privileges may be extended to the other public forums once a new member has demonstrated that he or she:

Consistently respect and abide by the SSF Guidelines.
Actively and regularly participate.
Properly post photos.

There are many people here who can help answer your questions and increase your knowledge and enjoyment of silver. To do so, however, we need a bit of effort on your part. Here are a few things that can help you find what you are looking for:

Many of the basic who, what and where questions have already been asked and answered.

Post a picture
It's not hard and will go a long way to getting an accurate answer.

If you can't take a picture, try a drawing.

Tell us the Why of your question
We're not being snoopy; knowing will help us help you:
What is your interest in silver?
What is it that you hope to learn from this question?
What is your purpose in asking?

Newsletter quote: Starting a Library on Silver The excellent website run by Scott and June Martin (http://www.smpub.com) has published a list of useful books on Silver. This list is intended to suggest a range of good references for beginners� libraries on silver. Each person will have her/his own interests and will develop a library to match, but these books have been chosen by members of the Silver Salon Forums to provide a wide-ranging foundation for the average person. The focus here on books dealing with the silver of Britain and the United States reflects both the majority audience of the SSF and the emphases of the English-language publications. Private Silver Salon Forums (invitational or $ donation membership) - The Private Silver Salon Forums require registration and special authorization to view, search, start a thread or to post a reply. ^3. Administrative/Special Private Forums (special membership required) - These forums are reserved for special subjects or administrative discussion. These forums are not open to the public and require special authorization to view or post.
