I recently purchased a silver caster on a hunch, it was listed as silver plate. It's 6 1/2" in height and weighs 260 grams. I didn't know the marks at the time of purchase but subsequently identified them to be Swedish import marks (830 minimum standard?). It's marked with the Swedish import marks on the body and the lid. The curious thing is there are no other marks except those on the inner neck ring. These marks could be "830" or "800" or pretty much anything else. To me, the caster has a Danish look about it but there are no hallmarks to confirm this thought. Has anyone come across any silver with only the Swedish import marks? Any thoughts on a possible origin? Could this be an older piece that was subsequently imported into Sweden during the 1912-1988 period when these marks were used? All insight is greatly appreciated!

I would say German origin. and is there someting next to the 830 - because it must be 830 and not 800

Hose_dk, thanks for your thoughts. There are no further marks on the piece other than those listed. I would have thought it would have had hallmarks from the originating country in addition to the Swedish import marks.
