Slide #70

silde

"A single piece buckle with its original extra clasp piece, in gilded silver. This buckle is actually made of four identical stamped elements, each with an individually soldered flat back, which have then been soldered together at the edges to form the buckle. It is marked "E.I.R.", probably for E. Ira Richards & Co. of North Attleboro, active until 1915 (per Rainwater's American Jewelry Manufacturers.) Unusually, the small companion clasp also bears the maker's mark. This piece is about 2" high."
