silde

As my collecting tastes have evolved over the past several years, the one motif that has remained of constant interest is insects (and spiders). Perhaps it is because the second piece of nice silver I ever purchased was a Dominick & Haff salt cellar featuring insect decoration. When I was still a neophyte, the appearance of one of the most reviled classes of organisms on fine silver surprised and fascinated me. Since buying that salt, I have been attracted to any silver and jewelry featuring insects, especially those considered hideous and undesirable.
