I just picked up a trade card for Godfrey Jepson, Silversmith, keeping shop at 274 Washington Street, Boston. From the type faces used, the card (I'll post it up anon) dates to about 1880 or so. Has anyone a reference for this man? He seems to have made a specialty of fraternal jewels as well as general silver work.

Here's a little about this gentleman. He was born in England about 1840. He is in Boston and area city directories from 1872 until 1902 at least. There is also a Henry Jepson silversmith at the same address for a time who may even have been a twin: they're both one year old in 1841. Godrey's son of the same name died at age five of scarlet fever.Godfrey calls himself a goldsmith and silversmith. He appears to work on and off for Ames Sword Company. He advertises silversmithing and regalia. In 1880 he is married to an Anne E and the same year also a Martha G.
