[01-2331] Hi folks, I have a neat little silver box with raised gold plated oriental figures, and a neillo (black oxidized) background. This piece is 1 3/4" in diameter and 1" tall and has a solid feel. Some of the gold is wearing off and it looks and polishes like silver. On the underside of the lid is a mirror. There are no marks on this neat piece, but the engraving work looks like what Gorham or Whiting or Tiffany would do in the late 1870's thru the 1880's, specially the birds. Would this have been an oriental made piece, for a tourist, or a copy made in the states.?? Thanks for your input. Respectfully, Marc Cutcher
