I bought a silverplate set a few months ago, and it had sheets of this in it. I just opened it up yesterday, and there's no tarnish on any piece, despite the fact that we have gas heat.

One interesting aspect of this product as opposed to, say, the 3M paper strips -- which seem to work on a similar concept -- is that it appears that it's expected to come in direct contact with the silver. The recommendation for the 3M strips is that they not touch the silver directly.

I am restating my previous post; I had not gone through every piece previously. The silverware set is a service for 8, and what I found is that some of the stacked pieces that are either not exposed to the air on the top or actually touching the paper on the bottom show some tarnish. Also, the knives are on stored on the top of the box and the handles were slightly tarnished, though not as badly as the stacked pieces.

Thanks DOC.

I recall the product has a two year shelf life (I could be wrong).

How long has it been in use with your silver?

Good point Scott. I don't know how long it's been in the box; I bought the set at an antiques show and the sheets were included. My guess is that it's been a while; the set was inherited from the dealer's mother and she said she hadn't used it.
