I want to post a picture of an anniversary present I made for a friend to give to his wife. I have so much trouble with the new Photobucket that I'm not sure I have this sized properly. Scott, can you resize it if necessary?

The pieces have cocabola handles and the fork is my design to go along with the trowel which ONC offered for a time.

Beautiful pieces Middletom. Your friends wife is going to be very happy.

I used something called Picture Trail the last time I posted pictures. It was slow uploading and I had to crop the pictures to make them small enough in some measurement of size, but it did convert the pictures to the right size. I used the medium size and that seems to work.

On Photobucket, when I tried to resize the picture, as I put in the size for length, the width measurement would automatically change. When I tried to change the width back, the length would change. Very frustrating.

Hi Middletom!

Although I am not very well versed at all regarding photobucket a friend has offered a possible solution for you.

They say when you resize one dimension of a picture, height or width, the other dimension automatically changes in order to maintain the original proportions of the photo. This is a different function than cropping the photo, which you do as a first step, in order to get rid of whatever might be unnecessary in the composition of the photo.

So, first crop for composition, and second size for publication. My friend says they presume photobucket will do both.

I hope this will help you.

As always, I think your work is exceptional.

One tiny clarification, the wood you used is called cocobolo. Another common name for it is Nicaraguan rosewood and its true name is Dalbergia retusa. You need to be careful when you shape it and sand it as many people have alergies, or develop alergies, to its natural oils in the sawdust and shavings. Make sure you use a vacuum system, full face mask, and good impervious gloves.

Thank you , Kimo, for that information and the spelling correction. The handle was actually made for the company by an instructor at the North Bennett Street School in Boston some years ago. I just added a bit of Minwax for protection. However I did drill a hole for the silver tang to be set into and found no side effects from the dust I produced.
