In 2018, the Silver Salon Forums will mark their 25th anniversary - quite a milestone. Any ideas on what we should do to celebrate?

How did it take six years for me to find you? Oh, right, no internet access.

No clever thoughts, I am afraid.

i joined the forums when i was still in high school, it has really been such a pleasure to be a part of this community.

how about a silver piece with a hand-engraved depiction of some feature of the smpub.com website?

I think a gathering of the clan would be in order!

We know of a small party space which we can reserve for free (plus a damage deposit) in NYC. Any catering or beverages, dishes, glassware, etc. would have to be arranged separately (or we could do BYOB & potluck)...this is just a seed of an idea, perhaps someone could suggest something better.

Also there are the up and coming Miami Antique shows & next year's Baltimore show which might be good to coordinate an gathering around.

I'm up for NYC pot luck! We should all bring our own spoons.

Our membership is spread all over the world..... I like the idea of finally getting to meet our members but I expect we all won't travel for a party. I also suspect some of the membership will want to remain anonymous.....

BTAIM, I suspect there are areas/regions of membership concentration where members would like to get together (i.e., NY, NJ, CT/tri-state, Boston, California, UK, Germany, etc.).

Here's a very rough idea. Members in a particular area who want to host/arrange a gathering should do so. If we can coordinate the various gatherings such that they all happen at the same date/time, I think we could video conference the various gatherings into one event.

Today, since so many devices are equipped with a camera this should be possible depending on the video conferencing supplier's device requirements (costs).
