I've just been told by Scotchguard that their Tarni-Shield silver polish (formerly "3M Tarni-Shield) has been discontinued and there is no more inventory.

I'm devastated. I chair a committee that is responsible for the care of yacht club trophies. We've tried everything, and it is far and away the best product we've found. Jeff Herman gave it a low-abrasion rating and we found it very easy to use. Best of all, it cut our polishing schedule from twice a year to once a year (or less). I've recommended it to everyone who complains about polishing. A game changer. But no more.

This takes some practice to get it right...

Polish it once and properly apply the transparent wax Renaissance Micro-Crystalline Wax Polish.

If done well and the silver is kept in a display case then it might be years before the silver needs another polish.
