It’s been long, way way too long since I’ve posted in here and I just wanted to stop in and say hello!

I’m still alive and well, still collecting silver…

My collection is the largest by far that it has ever been and I absolutely adore this stuff!

Lately I’ve been doing more of the “modern” silver from England. I’ve even had some pieces commissioned for me earlier this year. In fact, I’ll have to figure out posting a photograph again, but I have a picture of some pieces I had made with 2025 hallmarks on them!

Lately I use my phone for everything so I need to go to the regular computer to post the photographs… Anyway, pop in and say hello, it’s good to see you guys!

Ah! Thank you Scott!!!
I was going to add the other pictures earlier, but got distracted, (at work) lol
Anyway, I am home now and I’m going to upload the rest of them!

So, this next cup I had made by Hart Gold and Silversmiths of Chipping Campden, formerly the guild of handicraft. I’m sure you guys in the arts and crafts section are aware of them.

Last fall I emailed them and was talking to William Hart, he’s either the grandson or a great grandson of George Hart, who bought the business from Charles Robert Ashbee.

He is an excellent silversmith! I had him make some cups for me earlier this year and, for the sake of interest, I asked if he could send one of them to Birmingham for hallmarking, (they usually use London) He said he would, but it would cost extra because he had to send it alone because they never use Birmingham… To me it was worth the extra money just to have an example of their work with the Birmingham hallmarks. This is the Birmingham example from 2025:

Here is the other one made this year, this one went to London like normal and has the rounded bottom, it’s the Tumbler cup:

Oh, and hello June! It’s nice to see you in here as well! I hope to see the others… Anyway, I’m loving these new pieces, all made completely by hand. I’ve always been a fan of hand raised pieces. Has anyone heard from Fred?

I just looked at the page. I think I see what I was doing wrong now… I was using the wrong URL.

I appreciate your patience!

Here is what started the collection, last fall when I contacted William, I asked if he had any pieces that were already made and ready for sale and he had this one:

And if anyone is interested, this book, which is out of print, unfortunately, is exceptional if you can find a copy online somewhere…

This is what gave me the idea to have the three different cups as he makes these as regular products…
