We recently purchased a sterling box chain with pendant. Both chain and pendant have stamped 925 on them, a recessed stamp not raised. The letters MC or MG in upper case are stamped on the pendant not the necklace. The boxes of the box chain look exactly like little square boxes not even similar to the box chain in gold my wife bought me. Any Idea who or what the letters MC or MG stamped on the pendant represent? The pendant is heart shaped with what appears to be a diamond in the center. It looks ornate in detail surrounding the heart . Someone obviously put effort into making each little link into the shape of a box and I have searched many hallmark sites to no avail. Your help would be appreciated.Thank you.
Best Regards.
Mike B.

I can't think of any MC or MG who would have made your pendant. Do the pendant and chain appear old? With the chain being 925, I pictured it as being a newer piece, in which case, it is likely Italian and machine-made. The same may or may not be true of the pendant, which could be original to the chain. If you post a picture, I will have a better idea of the date, etc.
