This small silver ring appears well designed and made. Can anyone suggest the meaning of the "sun" face and the curious symbol on one side which almost looks like three waves? There are no other markings.

Very many thanks

My guess would be that these are symbols from the Wiccan religion. In my experience, there exists a large number of silver workers who produce items used in Wiccan services and featuring European Neo-Pagan symbology. You might try asking at Witches Voice about this.

Doing a little web research, I found a site:
Wicca Store Catalog

which has pieces very much like your ring design. It is called a 'Celtic Triscele'. And is symbolic of the Triple Goddess of the Celts. Check out this other site:
[gone from the internet - mywitchshop.com/Pagan_Wiccan_Jewelry_Store/]
Pagan Wiccan Jewelry

Both feature silver work, as well as pewter.

FYI--the triskele design also represents the Isle of Man and Sicily. However, I agree with Dale that your ring probably involves Celtic/Pagan symbolism.
