Here are two fascinating antique European charms.

The first is Czech, enameled on one side with a scene of two lovers in a pastoral setting. The reverse, also enameled, carries a Czech inscription that translates roughly to "Our everlasting love," which comes from an opera called "The Bartered Bride" by Czech composer Bedrich Smetana.

The second is a miniature Austro-Hungarian postcard, enameled on the front with castle or large house, and on the back with a reproduction of the back of the postcard with wonderful details (oddly, though, while the design incorporates a stamp and postmark, there is no message or even address).

Continental charms of the late 19th/early 20th can certainly be quite interesting. Does anybody have other neat Continental charms or other souvenir jewelry to share?

To my knowledge Smetana was not a wife beater, and the title of his opera is the Bartered Bride. Cute charms.

Thank you for pointing out my typo. I have fixed it. -Paul
