Greetings all,

I bought this little gem at a yard sale this past summer and have not been able to identify the age or maker(or region) and was hoping someone would be able to help me. The makers initials are "RMM" and only states 925, sterling, Mexico. Many thanks to all........Roger

Don't know anything about the marks, but say, have you had a look at this, Paul Lemieux? Well, it's not anything like the Aesthetic/Japanesque things I've seen Paul Lemieux show us, but it's definitely interesting. Nice pictures, trapper!

Mexican silver made between 1946-1979 should have an eagle assay mark. After 1979, no eagle, but a workshop number instead (XX-## format). I would guess this piece was made shortly before the eagle mark went into effect, i.e. circa 1940-45.

Many thanks Paul. Thats the ballpark I was leaning to after researching the online hallmark guide, which is fantastic. It is reassuiring that an expert was thinking along the same lines I was. I was just hoping that posting pictures might help lead to an ID, or region, on the maker due to the craftsmanship.
Thanks again........Roger
