Couldn't resist the pun.... Although usually - and usually justifiably - dismissed for producing pretty humdrum, run-of-the-mill sorts of designs, firms like Beau and Lang also occasionally produced some charming, amusing, maybe even exciting pieces. Maybe you'd put Coro in the same category? Others?

In any case, here's one from my recent acquisitions to start things off, a cute little abstracted dog from Beau. How about some other more interesting examples from some of these mainstream manufacturers?

Hello FWG!
Fun piece! It's a dual purpose pin.....I can see the dog, but if you turn it, it's a flower, perhaps a tulip.
Thanks for sharing.

I am partial to this modernist Beau brooch. It has a nice 3-D quality and a great form, to my eye at least. Could well be by someone much more expensive!
