Does anybody know who might have made this perfume bottle? very fine quality, yet completely unmarked. it is gilt sterling silver with a large garnet cabochon set in the top. The putti are classical, the handles sort of resemble japanesque tendrils, and the bottom has a Turkish feel. The other side is a continuation of the scene on the front, not simply the same scene stamped again and repeated.

It looks like Tiffany. It probably had a chain and finger ring at one time.
Dimensions?

I thought it looked like Tiffany as well, but was surprised not to find a mark. The chain and finger ring are absent. About 3" long.

Richard, just went over it again with a loupe and found the tip third of "TIFFANY & CO." very worn along the top edge of the opening.

What do you think for a date? Late 1870s? There are no other marks remaining, the TIFFANY & CO is a stamped serif typeface.

Paul, If I had to guess I would say more 1880s. Show the other side.

Paul, After looking at this again it could very well be 1870s. Tiffany was retailing some flatware by William Bogert with similar cherub designs in the 1860s and I have seen handles like this on early 1870s pieces.
So....
