June & I often go to flea markets. Sometimes there are great finds biggrin and sometimes not frown . We have noticed that there are many more "Show" and "Store Front" dealers doing the NYC area flea markets. This appears to be pushing the pricing at the flea markets up. Is this just a NYC trend or is this happening elsewhere?

Yes, prices are being pushed up, but it appears that quality is going up, too.

Hi there once again silver fanatics!
Scott, I take it, you are referring to upscale flea markets that don't allow much in the way of beanie babies or tube socks to be sold?

At any rate, you are right about more show dealers setting up at 'flea markets'.

Several reasons come to mind, not the least of which is that setting up at a flea market costs a lot less than setting up at a large paid show. ($100. vs $800.)

The second reason is that most Silver Dealers, like myself, have this bad habit of spending money on more merchandise, and to do this, we have to sell more silver. Flea markets are a great place to move patterns and low end merch

A third reason is there will be a different mix of customers. You may get a collector who doesn't come to 'Real' shows.

Concerning the up pricing of merchandise at flea markets...That is probably comming about because of the 'NEW' price guide on the market...E Bay.

Looking foward to all responses.
Marc
