Silver Magazine 40th Anniversary Event

Silver Magazine 40th Anniversary Event
Dates: Thursday, September 25 through Saturday, September 27
Where: Replacements, LTD – 1089 Knox Road, McLeansville, NC 27301
Presenters: Janet Drucker, D. Albert Soeffing, as well as a panel discussion group including Scott Martin and others.

Tentative Schedule:

Thursday, September 25: Gala Reception, 7-9 pm in the Replacements, Ltd. Showroom. Including special exhibits and museum highlights.

Friday, September 26: Session I
9 am – Registration and Welcome
Morning – Presenters
Lunch Break – On Site
Afternoon – Silver & Restoration tours,
Exhibits, Dealer & Club Participation, Panel discussion
4:30 pm – Free time

6:00-8:30 pm – Start of Session II with Speaker D. Albert Soeffing

Bibliographical sources for the collector and the scholar
Silver - the indispensable metal and its unique properties
Silver appraisal and connoisseurship
Tools to help the appraiser and collector
Examination and Identification

Saturday, September 26: Continuation of Session II
9 am – 12 noon (with break) – Speaker D. Albert Soeffing

American Marks and Marking Systems
The confusing world of "Pseudohallmarks"
Makers and Manufacturers as opposed to Retailers
Historical Perspective and Social History

Lunch Break – On Site

1:30–5 pm (with break) – Speaker D. Albert Soeffing

Styles and construction used as dating mechanisms

Care and Repair

There will be a small exhibit of advertisers (antique dealers, auction houses, silver society's, etc.) will have membership/display tables set up on Friday in one of the conference rooms at Replacements. This is free to the public so if you did not want to commit to the seminar and you are in the area, please feel free to stop by.
