My wife and I attended an interesting antique forum at the Belmont University in Nashville this weekend. No discussions on silver, but the University did have an interesting exhibit that opened the same weekend. Included in this exhibit was some interesting silver including a beautiful silver plated water pitcher marked Hatting, Meyer and Warne, circa 1860. I believe this was a retailer in Philadelphia. In any event the pitcher was entitled "Night and Day" and looked as if it was made from solid silver.

They also had an interesting display of flatware and some other interesting pieces. If you are planning a trip to that area it is worth a look.

After the forum we stopped at exit 2 on Interstate 65 just into Kentucky and saw a beautiful field of winter canola. I grew up in the city and must admit I have a great fondness for looking at fields of crops. This one was particularly pretty.

I have just returned from a visit to the folks in Ireland, and while I didn't find any good silver, I also saw many fields of gold. In Ireland, it's called rapeseed and it's become quite a popular crop. The fields absolutely stand out among the green tapestry of the fields of Ireland.
