We found this Gorham piece at an estate sale. We are thinking it is a food pusher, but are unsure and very curious. Does anyone know what this would have been used for? Also, is this one of Gorham's "maverick" patterns? Thanks for your help!

Geri had contacted me at another forum and I asked her to bring her query to the folks here. It has the appearance of a plunger of sorts in the Aesthetic Style. Perhaps part of something. It looks clunky to be a food pusher.

(goes to show what I know about food pushers)

This is somewhat of a guess, but given the seafood oriented theme of the piece, I am wondering if it might have been used to crack crabs or to push crab shells.
