For the "How to Ruin Flatware" file, here is a knife rest that sold on eBay recently. It is made from a Shiebler Maintenon teaspoon handle mounted on a seashell. Boasts the seller, "This is the first and only custom knife rest ever made in this style." And if we're lucky, the last.

Hi Paul! Have you also heard that there are replacement services that are also custom making serving flatware
pieces to fit your pattern. I can only guess they use damaged pieces and somehow reconfigure them.
Makes the "buyer beware" even more important.
Like Rockefeller when he reproduced pottery pieces to make them more affordable to public I don't in a sense mind BUT please lable them (not a paper label) as in an impressed mark saying reproduction!
Stay safe!

Out of curiosity, who owns the Shiebler designs? Are they in the public domain? Are there extent dies?
