I have a silver box that has been in my family for quite some time. My mother-n-law spoke to an antique dealer that said it may be worth something. The mark reads:

Tiffany & Co
18310 (I think a K but it is hard to read) MAKERS 5002
Sterling Silver
925-1000 (a phone number??)
M

Any help would be greatfully appreciated.
Catherine

The number 18310(?) is the pattern number; 5002 is the order number. 925-1000 is another way of indicating that your box is made of sterling silver, sterling being 0.925 pure silver. The capital M means that the box was made during the tenure of Edward C. Moore as chief designer and head of Tiffany's silver department, 1869-1891.
