It is a 50mm wide and 20mm high circular lidded container, weighing 47.6g.
The marks are "Tiffany & Co, Makers. 14kt Gold, 21054, M." Then well away from these and below is "2"
The splayed "M" is sans serifs, so assume it was a Louis Moore design.
The lid has a well engraved crown which was possibly an imaginative representation to impress rather then to designate nobility.
Would dating this in the 1920's be a reasonable assumption, as well?

THe splayed M mark, for Louis deBabian Moore, is from 1947-1956--and that's when a lot of the Tiffany gold was made. Louis Moore was not a designer, but the company president. It looks like you have a pillbox, given the shape and period. THe piece was designed in 1927-28, based on the number, and was probably made in silver and in gold. The crown, as you say, is simply decorative--but it might have been intended to commemorate a coronation--such as Queen Elizabeth's in 1953. The engraved decoration is separate from the shape of the piece, not part of the original design.
