I need info, and who better to ask but "THE MAN" himself, Dr. Hood!! I have a 7 pint bowl with about 2 in band of ostrich like plumes around the top, four decorative feet on rimmed bottom. It looks like a revere type bowl with decorations added to top rim and bottom. I would like year info and best way to go about selling to get best price. Christi's and Skinner's have been mentioned but not sure about that either. Thanks

The number 13469 is a pattern number, and the number 1866 is an order number. The pattern number corresponds to a year date of issue of circa 1898. The T is a "date letter" indicating the piece was made during a specific time period when Charles L. Tiffany was president of Tiffany & Co., namely, 1891-1902. I don't know what the hand-engraved marks on your bowl mean.

There is no way to predict how to get the best price for your piece. You might get an estimate from the major auction houses such as Christie's and Sotheby's. You might also try getting an offer from some of the major dealers in New York who handle this type of item, such as R & P Kassai and Hartman Rare Art. Once you have a general idea of its value, you might consider putting it up on eBay.
