One finds flatware of the 1950s (e.g., patterns designed by Gio Ponti) marked Fraser's/Italy and made by Arthur Krupp Italy for the American market. At this same time there was a retail store on Telegraph Ave. in Bekeley, CA named Fraser's that imported flatware, as well as an import house at 236 Fifth Ave. in New York that imported flatware. The latter operation was listed in telephone directories in the 1960s-70s as Fraser's Div. of WMF (the German firm); Gordon F. Fraser had the same NYC address and tel. no. Can anyone tell me anything about Gordon F. Fraser and the relationship, if any, between the two Fraser's on opposite coasts?
