I had the opportunity for to take a peak at these two amazing Gorham spoons from a friends private collection. They were just so amazing that I thought I would share the images with fellow forum members to appreciate and (hopefully) admire as much as I did.

Wow, Carla, thanks for sharing! What is the time period for their manufacture? The handle shapes are reminiscent of many of the Egyptian-inspired designs of c. 1870, while the relief frieze of classical(?) figures reminds of Heller's work of about a decade later. Is there anything in particular that someone can tell us about these great pieces?

Nice pieces.

They are most likely pre Heller. The style of decoration on the bowls was used by Gorham throughout the 1870's on higher end hollowware.

Below is a piece with similar type decoration on the exterior of the bowl. The handle is made of ivory and it has the same shape as the Angelo pattern. It is 8 1/4" long.
