I just saw this butter spreader by Wood& Hughes but can't find the pattern name. Does anyone recognize it?

Thanks

Robert

Whatever its name is, I'd call it Freaky (in a good way).

I had another piece of this once. I'm sure it was a short lived pattern with a low production run. I continue to run into "new" Wood & Hughes patterns, most of which were likely made in limited numbers. For comparison, Gorham produced a lot of similar NFL (Not Full Line) patterns, the only difference being they were often numbered, or can be identified from the Gorham archives. I'm sure we would know the names of these W&H patterns if the Wood & Hughes archives still existed.

Regardless, a neat pattern, obviously sea-inspired and one you might wish they made more of.

This is a cool pattern. I have seen a couple of pieces of it. Memory, which may be tricking me, serves that the pieces were associated with holloware. Looking at the wavy part on top of the blade, I wonder if this could be some sort of cheese server? And was this made to match a cheese dish?

There are flatware pieces that were made to accompany holloware. They were not sold on their own. I once had a W&H small dish with coral like design that had a coral like handled spoon with it. It was the only W&H flatware in that pattern I ever saw.

Does anyone know where the W&H archives are?
Or if there are any.

Hello Robert!

Could you please show a picture of the mark ?
Also it appears as a gold wash, is it?

Thank you.

Hi

Here is the best pic of the mark I could get. It isn't gold washed.

Thanks for everyone's comments!
