I have what I am sure is the waste bowl to a tea set.

The mark on the bottom is like the Dominick and Haff logo except it goes the opposite direction. In the rectangle it says 925 the 0 is empty and the diamond says 1882.

It has a hand hammered look with repousse Leaves, vines and bugs including a dragon fly and a bumble bee.

Any Ideas??

It is Dominick & Haff. The logo is originally from the old William Gale company, and they inherited it as the successor when it finally became D&H in 1872. The date of 1882 is correct, and it fits in nicely with the aesthetic style of your piece.

You have a VERY desirable piece. D&H did some fabulous work in this style, and yours sounds great.

You are right when you said Dominick & Haff, the pattern sounds like one of the Old English Antique Engraved series, but I can't find any with bugs or a dragonfly.

Brent, What do you think it would be worth. I am selling it on consignement for an Elderly lady who is scaling down. I wish she had the whole tea set. Lainey

Hi again,

A great piece, as I suspected. We do not give valuations on these forums, but I can reiterate that this is exactly the kind of thing that collectors are looking for right now. If you have found similar pieces on other sites, then you can probably figure what the retail price of something like this might be.
