Hi everyone! Any thoughts on this slight wacky coffee set- 3 pieces with a round tray? The set is in a vaguely Federal style, but then it strangely has a hammered surface. They 4 pieces are only marked "sterling 925/1000". Not bad quality and the pieces do have some good weight. Could this set been sold at a department store or jewelry store?

Thanks!

This looks 20th century to me (to state the obvious), but it's far beyond my expertise. The square bottoms and round tray make for an interesting combination.

Thanks Polly. Yes, definitely 20th century and you are right about the round tray and square bottoms. I find the combination of the Federal shapes with the hammering unsettling. Thanks again, Kelly

Hi Kelly, fyi the 925/1000 mark has been discussed as particular to a maker, maybe you can find the thread (sorry long day, otherwise I'd ....).
