By Gorham, with figural blueberries. Is this pattern called Berry? (Does it have a name?)

Maybe the blueberries are a clue to its use? IP: Logged |

It's not a berry spoon, I don't think--too flat. And the pattern came in lots of different pieces. I thought maybe ice cream server rather than fish slice because of the berries, but I really don't know... IP: Logged |

Blueberry pie would taste even better when served with this server, but it would make anything taste better. Lovely server. IP: Logged |

For some reason it didn't occur to me that it might be a pie server, probably because it's a trapezoid rather than a wedge. But you may well be right! Too late for blueberries, but it's apple-pie season. IP: Logged |

Awesome server! I believe that's Palm pattern c.1871-75 period. IP: Logged |

The general shape is similar to Palm, but Palm has a palm pattern on the handle that this lacks; this has berries that Palm lacks; and the place where the handle attaches to the bowl is different. But I expect they're from the same time, and maybe the same designer(s) were involved. IP: Logged |

Good points. It could be a custom pattern. It's a cool piece regardless. They did so many different things, you really never know what you'll find by Gorham! I actually found a butter knife in Hamburg with the normal Gorham marks. I've never seen another one before or since! There are lots of surprises to be found by Gorham. IP: Logged |
