After merging with other companies in 1898 to form International Silver, did Meriden B. still use their hallmark? I have a chalice with their mark on it along with the stamped number 50 and am trying to determine the age of the piece. IP: Logged |

Meriden Britania's various marks were used into the 1930s. The 50 on your piece is probably a design or production number. IP: Logged |

I have purchased a cake plate stamped Meriden B., with a style number of 1798 and markings for quadruple plating. I am trying to determine its age and wonder if it is listed in your catalogues. IP: Logged |

From the look of it, it's clearly 1870s or 1880s, and just the sort of plate that many people collect. IP: Logged |
