britjunk Posts: 1 Registered: May 2001	posted 06-20-2001 06:08 PM I have acquired 10 russian silvergilt spoons in perfect condition with silver mark being AK and the silver content mark.They are 6inches long with barley sugar twist handles the spoonbacks have a chaste pattern.Can anyone help with the makers mark and a date if possible. ------------------ IP: Logged

I'd need more detail about the mark itself, because that often indicates the date of the piece--and sometimes Russian silver is dated. Are the bowls chased or engraved? Any sort of inlay work? These coffee spoons were fairly popular in the US during the 1870s-1890s and beyond--even places like Tiffany's in NYC sold a significant amount of Russian silver. IP: Logged
