Redd & Barton produced a huge amount of hotel silver--it was a status symbol both for the maker and the hotels involved to used name brand silver in their dining rooms. All of this electro-plated silver is usually pretty plain, and thus has little market value unless associated with a famous hotel or some other commercial entity (like a train or an ocean liner). Do you know where the Hotel Sinton was? It would be of interest to local historical collectors... Silver Soldered refers to a high quality electroplate, in which the joints are soldered with silver alloy and not lead, so that they are both stronger and use more silver. IP: Logged |

You might try contacting: Sinton, Tx. Chamber of Commerce As best as I can tell there is only one hotel in Sinton, a Best Western Sinton Hotel. Maybe the Hotel Sinton is out of business or Best Western bought it. IP: Logged |
